Do you need an appointment?
It is better to make an appointment, especially for Saturdays
or Sundays as we give priority to those with an appointment.
However, we will try to fit you in, if you are prepared
to wait. An appointment is not necessary during the week
but still advisable. You are welcome to browse at any time.
How long will my appointment take?
Most girls are with us for one and a half hours –
it is a big decision.
How long does it take to order my dress?
Most dresses take 16 weeks for delivery. You also need
to allow time for fitting which is ideally 1 – 2 months
prior to your wedding.
What if I haven’t allowed enough time to order
a dress?
We stock an adequate amount of dresses, ranging from sizes
10 – 22.
Is it true that I will wear one size bigger in my
wedding dress?
Unfortunately, this is the case. Most wedding dress collections
are sized smaller, usually because they are cut to a couture
size chart.
How do I determine my dress size?
Once you have selected your gown we will need your measurements
so we can determine the best size. These measurements are
typically your bust, waist and hips. We will then compare
your measurements to the designer’s size chart to
determine the best size for you.
Should I bring my friends with me?
No more than two would be sufficient. Too many differing
opinions can cause confusion.
Are alterations always necessary?
Most girls do need alterations, even if it is only on the
length. Manufactured dresses are not made to measure.
Are the alterations included in the price?
No, alterations are not included in the price of the gown.
The cost of the alterations will depend on the extent of
the work involved.
Are the alterations carried out on the premises?
No, but we can suggest two seamstresses.
What items will I need for my fittings?
You will need to bring everything you will be wearing with
your dress – your lingerie, petticoat and shoes. Changing
these items after your first fitting can dramatically affect
the way your dress fits and cause twice as many alterations.
How do I pay for my dress?
You pay half the price of your gown with your order and
the other half when the dress comes in store. We accept
all major credit cards, debit cards, cash or cheques.
Do you accept returns on bridal wear?
No. All sales are final. This policy is consistent within
the industry standard for bridal wear.
What do I do with the train on my dress in the evening?
Most dresses can be hooked up for the evening. Those without
hooks can have these added when the alterations are being
undertaken.
Should the maids dresses match the bridal gown?
It is better to buy your maids dresses after the bridal
gown. This is because it is better to carry a theme through,
however small, to link the dresses together.
How long do maids dresses take to order?
Allow between 12 and 16 weeks for delivery.
Is that the same for the Loulou collection?
LouLou dresses now take approximately 8-12 weeks
for delivery.
They no longer offer a "rush cut" service
What if maids are all different sizes?
You need your maids to feel confident in what they are
wearing and look good in the photographs. Sometimes brides
choose similar dresses but with subtle changes to ensure
each girl looks her best. You are advised to choose a colour
that goes with all your maids hair colours. Many of the
bodices come with either a straight or A-line skirt. Larger
arms can be hidden with a matching stole; lace-up backs
can have a placket which hides the bra straps should a girl
feel underwear is essential.
Do you sell veils and tiaras?
Yes. We have an extensive range of tiaras and veils. However,
if you do not see the colour and style you wish to order,
please ask. We stock Warren York and Linzi Jay.
Do you take website or telephone orders?
No, this is not advisable in any case.
